Alumni Advocate

UMKC School of Computing and Engineering (SCE) Alumni Advocate Program

Alumni can make meaningful contributions in helping us connect students to the greater computing and engineering community. Whether it is local, national or international, our students can benefit from hearing your stories and learning more about opportunities available in your field.

How can you be involved?  We have a range of ways for you to participate so let us know what you can do.  Got other ideas? Let’s talk!

Be available to talk to students about career opportunities in your field

Prospective and current students are eager to learn how and why alumni chose their career path, why you attended UMKC and how UMKC prepared you for professional practice. You have a powerful message to deliver to students, school counselors, teachers and parents. Also, as a trusted member of the community you enhance the impact.

Help with Career Prep

Current students can benefit from your expertise.  Help with workshops, mock interviews, etc., so that our students are better prepared when they begin their job search.

Participate in and/or host networking events

Help us grow the alumni community and build enthusiasm for being part of the UMKC School of Computing and Engineering. Networking events can allow for alumni to network with one another and students.

Participate on a Panel

SCE Alumni are truly extraordinary. Serving, working, and contributing all over the country and in many areas around the world, our alumni are making an impact. As part of highlighting the work and accomplishments of its alumni, SCE is always looking for alumni who are interested in sharing their experiences through participation on panels.
