UMKC’s Career Services
Kansas City is one of the premier centers of technology and engineering design in the country. Numerous civil infrastructure design/construction and engineering/manufacturing firms with national and international reputations are headquartered in Kansas City. This offers a unique opportunity to our students, many of whom participate actively as interns or as employees with these firms during the course of their study, thereby, getting a balanced blend of course work and practical experience.
Job opportunities abound for engineering and computer science majors. In terms of starting salaries and the number of job offers, engineering and computer science graduates compare favorably with all other graduates.
The School of Computing and Engineering encourages students to utilize the resources available at UMKC’s Career Services. Here you can find information on career fairs and on-campus recruitment opportunities, assistance with résumé writing and interviewing skills, and search for jobs using Roo Career Network, an employment database with local, national and on-campus job opportunities. These services are free to both current students and UMKC alumni.
A Career Services representative is available to SCE students on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in Flarsheim Hall, room 560K.
