At SCE, student teams work year-round to prep for competitions. Many SCE teams function like small engineering or IT firms. Students handle all aspects of project management, including budget, analysis, goals, design and manufacturing. There’s no one handbook to guide the work. Students learn from team veterans and one another before competing against rival colleges and universities. They work toward a common goal in a way that takes learning beyond the classroom.
The pay is measly. (Translation: zero.) But the friendship and collaboration make all the work worthwhile. (Translation: Put this on your resume.) Step up if you aren’t afraid to brainstorm and put your technical skills into action.
