Research Center Construction Updates

Near the end of September, we were thrilled to officially break ground on the new Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise and Research Center. The lab complex will be 57,800-square-feet and provide high-tech research and learning capabilities for our campus and our community. Since September, we’ve been moving quickly and making a lot of progress!

“I’m pleased with the progress we’re making on our new facility, the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise and Research Center, which we’re affectionately referring to as the FERC. The SCE faculty, staff, and students are all extremely excited and proud.”

Dean Kevin Truman

December: Crews began relocating the utilities.

February: They have been working on pouring the foundation for what will become our new high-bay structural lab.

Ongoing: Finalizing the interior designs, selecting fixtures, etc. Vertical construction will be coming soon!
