Description: The VR Innovation Academy (VRIA) is a gateway to the dynamic and exciting world of Augmented and Virtual Reality (AVR) occupations and applications. This course is a dynamic, rigorous, learning experience that engages learners in hands-on, immersive learning activities as content developers in the field of augmented and virtual reality. Those completing the VRIA have a strong foundation to build upon in order to adapt to this ever changing field. Are you ready for the AVR Challenge? The General Knowledge Transfer phase of the VR Innovation Academy introduces Augmented and Virtual Reality and Project Management to lay a foundation on fundamentals required to be successful in this industry. Next, students are fully immersed into hands-on learning experiences in 2D and 3D asset creation, modeling, rigging and animation, texture mapping and lighting to create models used in both AR and VR formats. Techniques such as scripting, programming and immersive content for stereoscopic systems are another key aspect of this program. In later modules, students will learn about interface development, physics in real time rendering, visual appearances, optimization and geometry conversion for deployment of applications in multiple platforms and formats ranging from simulations to immersive AR and VR applications.

Week 12: Deployment for Stereoscopic Immersive Systems

Week 13: Deployment for Stereoscopic Immersive Systems and Solutions with Natural Interfaces

Week 14: Mobile Application Development and AR Application Development for Mobile Platforms

Week 15: VR Application Development for Mobile Platforms and Geometry Conversions and Optimization including CAD and DCC

Week 16: Creator AVR – Development and Management of Content

CERTIFICATION

Within the duration of the training participants will be given an opportunity to apply for EON Certification. There are various certification programs and examinations prepared as additional benefit from EON Reality to the trainees:

EON Certified AR/VR Developer – Level 1

  • Certification that is possible to be conducted after successful completion of the 1st stage of the training – General Knowledge Transfer

Future courses will provide opportunities to complete Level 2 certification, including:

EON Certified AR/VR Developer – Level 2

  • Certification that is possible to be conducted after successful completion of the 2nd stage of the training – Project Based Learning
  • Focus on participants who have been involved and developed skills in interactive content via programming, R&D and practical lead creation of the immersive experiences

EON Certified AR/VR Artist – Level 2

  • Certification that is possible to be conducted after successful completion of the 2nd stage of the training – Project Based Learning
  • Focus on the participants who have been involved and developed skills in 2D/3D assets preparation for VR applications

EON Certified AR/VR Generalist – Level 2

  • Certification that is possible to be conducted after successful completion of the 2nd stage of the training – Project Based Learning
  • Focus on the students that been involved and developed skills in interaction all sections of the project development without specific specialization.

PREREQUISITES/REQUIREMENTS:

Those wishing to enroll in the VR Innovation Academy at UMKC will need to meet the following:

  • Strong computer fundamental skills, (document managements, folders, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Helpful: Basic Coding, Photo editing, 3D modeling, gaming or related experience on any software or coding applications.
  • Pre-enrollment interview with UMKC team to outline course requirements and expectations
  • Commitment to attend all classes and to fully engage in all learning experiences
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This program is intended for those individuals who want a quick, in-depth, entry into the field of Augmented and Virtual Reality content development. This is a high rigor and immersive training that will provide you with hands-on experiences in all facets of content creation providing you with multiple skills and experiences adaptable to a variety of occupations or applications. The program is for those who are new to Augment and Virtual Reality and want to learn more and it is for those who wish to expand their skills and abilities in this area.
