SCE students hanging out in the student lounge

We’re here to support you along the way.

SCE programs are academically rigorous and require the highest level of effort from students. In order to meet our students’ needs and support your academic endeavors, SCE provides tutoring and other academic support.

Members of SCE’s honor societies assist their fellow scholars through weekly tutoring sessions. In addition, we offer calculus study sessions throughout the week. These peer-led academic sessions allow students to fully explore the essence of academic topics.

Through the office of Academic Support and Mentoring, students are able to complement their classes with Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions. Created at UMKC, SI is a collaborative method of learning where student work with peer educators to ask questions and explore topics using a variety of methods.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jason Foster, Academic Advisor at
